Sassy Green Smoothie
Total prep time: 5 - 10 minutes | Yield: 2 - 3 servings

This is a light, slightly sweet smoothie that's easy on the digestive system. It's perfect for when you want some get-up-and-go without anything weighing you down. This recipe calls for...bone broth. The spices are good for balancing blood sugar, improving digestion, weight loss, eye health, fighting fungal and bacterial infection, heart health, regulating cholesterol, and reducing inflammation. If you need more grounding energy and strength, you could substitute a nut or seed butter for the coconut butter in this recipe.

This smoothie makes a great breakfast when your appetite is light and you don't want something heavy in your system. It also makes an ideal snack for late afternoon, when you're hungry and want something to tide you over till dinner, but don't want to ruin your appetite. In other words, it's a great blood sugar balancer that can satisfy your hunger, get some greens into your body, and keep you feeling light and energized. Drink this up and you'll still feel primed for the day's adventures!

2 cups lettuce (such as romaine or red leaf) 2 heaping Tbsp. goji berries
1/4 - 1/2 cup flat parsley 1 Tbsp. cinnamon
1 Granny Smith apple 1 tsp. fennel
1/4 cup coconut butter 1 tsp. enugreek
2 Tbsp. The Flavor Chef Beef Bone Broth 1/2 tsp. sea salt
Optional: 1/4 tsp. cloves for added digestive support
Optional sweeteners: 2 tsp. - 1 Tbsp. honey
1 Tbsp. molasses (if you want more potassium)
1 - 4 drops stevia in each glass when served (start with one drop, mix it in, and taste; add more drops, one at a time, until you achieve the taste you like)

Put all ingredients, except the optional sweeteners, into your blender and blend well. Taste the smoothie and decide if you want to add one of the sweeteners. Mix thoroughly and serve.

Store extra in your refrigerator and consume over the next day or two.

Serving suggestions: Serve as is - no embellishments needed! If you like, squeeze a few drops of fresh lemon juice or a couple drops of Urban Moonshine citrus bitters into your glass for flavor and added digestive support.
